Newsflash
Bush isn't the decider, he's a divider. He's divided our country, our international approval and our jobs into employed and outsourced.

Active ImageHey, welcome to my site. I'm still so young that I look like this. You'd recognize me anywhere. Maybe a little taller but still my shirt fits. Take a gander at my site and if you don't like it. Leave. If you do, then read on. Then leave. I don't like campers unless you have a Texas Parks Pass. Then you are cool.

Stupid Detroit and Washington

No shit, so like they are the last to have a clue about the drive nuances of Americans? They have produced nothing but crap. They deserve to sink.

While we are on that topic, the Congress and Senate should be strung up and hung. This isn't a game of foosball with the economy, this is life.

Vote any incumbant out. Period. Bad job, you're gone.

So if you did your job like they did, would you still be in your job? Not!

Got a House and the Attention to It
Friday, 22 August 2008

Ahhh, yes. In a past post I said if you want decorating tips go elsewhere...no, stay here. I'm becoming an HGTV pro (HighDef TV at that).

So I bought a home with my wife and we've moved in and I'm doing my best to not kill myself trying to get everything done overnight. It's been three weeks and I've got the yard set until next spring (thank you rain gods for your delivery today) and have learned the buying a house makes a person poor. I'm thinking of changing my last name to Poor so the mail comes to the Poor Household. Gosh, it never stops but probably will soon. There are some zits to iron out and then the unexpected things. To back track, I basically took about two months off of working in order to search and buy a house and ride. I haven't ridden a bicycle since I moved in. My tires are flat for god sakes! I think the carbon fiber is feeling a love neglect too! ;-)

Overall it is a great situation and we have a lovely home or at least, are on our way to it but there is painting, small demolition tasks, patio building and first and foremost getting our stainless steel appliances hooked up. I have done most of that and my wife said "I didn't know you were such a home makeover type guy!?!". Well freakin' hello babe, I didn't watch HGTV and surf the Internet for home ideas for the last two years because I was gay? I now can talk to you about appliances, tiling, satin vs. eggshell sheens in paint, when to plant and how to cut limbs off of trees. Craigslist.com. One word with a period basically. That is where you find your cheap tools.

Another favortite place is not a bar anymore, it's Home Depot. God I love that place. It's everything I wish I could buy and do but somehow, unlike the shows on HGTV, it takes time and labor...and money.

I've got the place so shined up with my labor that the neighbor came over and told me I look like an ant because I'm scurrying here and there working on stuff and he didn't want to disturb me but figured after a few weeks that was just how I was. Pretty cool. The neighbors are apparently happy with my changes and moreso, just that someone lives here after it being vacant for a few months.

We centrally located on a patch nestled between major highways in Austin and it takes me about 15 minutes to get downtown at 10 am for incalls to work on systems and also before we moved, I looked at the cycleing stuff and I'm only a few miles from my previous routes. I'm just too busy to get out and ride.

My plan is to spend another week or two on the house, get the last of major projects out of the way and then work and cycle. Notice work came first? Yeah, MORTGAGE!

Made smart choices there too so I'm less strapped and better off than most. I have a double garage with an air conditioner so I can ride my rollers and work on my bikes...after I get the painting tools out of the way, and the yard stuff, and etc.

Sorry it has been so long since I posted but we are doing well, working our butts off and getting settled.

Later...
